Blundstone was featured twice this week in ManRepeller, first on a list where people discussed great fashionable investments, and another list where the team looks at seasonal spring outfits that look great for work, and for going out after the workday is over!
The articles feature Blundstone Super 550 Boots, where a marketing industry woman noted their durability and "I’ve worn them pretty much every day since buying them with no regrets. Comfortable, unscarred by snow and great for everyday wear. Zero regrets.” The other outfit mixed in a pair of jeans, headband and other brand name items that provided a mix of creative influences.
Graeme Campbell at High Snobiety interviewed CEO Steve Gunn in today's article titled "How the Ordinary Blundstone 500 Became Fashion’s Coolest Boot."
Starting off with how it made its move from Australian laborers to trendy neighborhoods such as New York’s SoHo, Berlin’s Kreuzberg, and London’s Shoreditch, fashion combined with comfort and durability seems to be the right mix historically as well as for today, with a wider audience discovering Blundstone.
The interview looks at how these classic Chelsea Boots became popular with a young audience, and 50 years of the Blundstone 500 boots in particular. In fact "Whatever the 500 is paired with, it adds a hint of ruggedness and classic style that, in my opinion, can only enhance the overall outfit."

Jonathan Evans and the team at Esquire researched some of the Blundstone 500 series boots, taking them through the streets of Philadelphia, for walking and fighting all the winter elements. He notes the chelsea boots as comfortable, durable and even "life-proof" - as in no need to dodge puddles to protect your footwear - wearing the Blundstone 510's in classic black, no matter what the weather. And as he summarizes at the end of the article "Wear them once. I promise, your whole perspective will change—for the better."
Blundstone was at Outdoor Retailer 2019 in Denver last week and featured some upcoming boots for later in the year. Here's a sneak peek of one of them, courtesy of Gear Patrol also with their article titled "We Can’t Wait to Wear These Sharp New Chelsea Boots this Fall."

Clay Abney from popular mens magazine, The Manual, tooks a look at some of "The Best Travel Shoes for the Globe-Trotting Guy" this past week. While we all know packing the right footwear can make or break a trip, they often need to cover various types of weather, and can take up a lot of suitcase space - so its a choice you have to be careful about.
The article features the Blundstone 550 (BL550) for men, and notes how they "may be the original perfect travel shoe." "The rugged sole is paired with a waterproof, leather upper and a strategically placed elastic patch creates a slipper like feel that will almost make you wonder if you’re wearing shoes at all"

GQ recently featured Blundstone 990's - which are available for women and men - noting that "Serious weather calls for serious Blundstones" in an article titled "The Blundstone 990 Is the Boot You Need to Survive the Coming Winter Apocalypse" - and while we're not sure about the apocalypse part, the article notes that the Blundstone Work Boots are "toastier than you’d expect, comfier than your bedroom slippers, convenient to take on and off," and "slip seamlessly into virtually any fit with John C. Reilly–level range."
However, whatever the weather may be, whether record heat in Australia or cold days in the Midwest US, these all-condition boots are "something tougher, sturdier, and altogether badder" than your average Blundstone's.
From steel toes and stronger outsoles, these boots were made for... everything.

Thanks to the team at Gear Patrol for featuring us twice in recent days, first on their list of staff picks where Nick Caruso notes that he has “had these green-on-brown Blundstones for five years, and like a good watch or favorite jacket, I truly look forward to wearing them." As well as recommending them to anyone who asks, he talks about how the Blundstone 519's "slosh through New York puddles during rush hour just as well as open fields during a long-weekend camping excursion; they’re lightweight, comfortable enough to walk miles in and wear in fantastically."
But what truly makes a quality pair of boots? The Gear Patrol team examined this too, featuring the Blundstone Original 500 Boots: and how the "open cell, breathable foam material — positioned directly under the heel — combined with a cushioned midsole provides a high level of comfort from the first wear" as well as how easy they are to break in.

James Hills from Mantripping mentioned a few of our boots over at "Blundstone Super 550 Boots Are Ready For Adventure." He mentions that Blundstone's are "a great pair of boots that is stylish, rugged, and has a great story and deep heritage behind it."
The author takes the boots on an adventure along the California coast, exploring Big Sur and Carmel, and noting how the stitching, soles and materials were ready for the road trip, the dust and even the driving experience, along with beyond the road, such as while "walking in sand, rocks, and hiking up some hills." In addition to the Chelsea Boots, he takes a look at the work boot range also.
"I honestly can't say enough about how much I love these boots. They are the absolute perfect combination of comfort and style." Thanks for the mention, you can also read more at https://www.mantripping.com/style-and-fashion/blundstone-super-550-boots-are-ready-for-adventure.html

While Blundstone may be associated with Work Boots to some, Bon Appetit talks about how they've become a popular Chef Boot option, in the article "How 4 New York City Chefs Are Redefining Workwear" where they talk with Natasha Pickowicz, the pastry chef at Flora Bar and Altro Paradiso in NYC.
“Shoes are the most important item I consider when cooking. Blundstones make the best all-purpose, most comfortable work wear shoe I have yet to encounter. I have yet to replace my original pair."
